Salem NH Shooting, SALEM, NEW HAMPSHIRE — A teenage male was fatally shot outside a home on Orchard Terrace in Salem during a pre-dawn incident that is now under active investigation by state and local authorities.
According to a statement from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, law enforcement officers responded to a 911 call early this morning reporting a suspicious death at a residential property in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased teenager outside the home.
Officials confirmed that members of the Attorney General’s Office, New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit, and Salem Police Department are jointly investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities stated that the victim is from out of state.
Investigators have not yet released the identity of the teenager, pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy has been scheduled by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as part of the ongoing investigation into the cause and manner of death.
Authorities emphasized that there is currently no known threat to the public, noting that all known parties have been identified. However, officials have not released additional details regarding what led to the shooting or whether any arrests have been made.
