Logan Christopher Deal And Jakob Hogan Tapley Obituary – Death, PUTNAM COUNTY, GEORGIA — Two people were killed and two others injured early Thursday morning after a large tree fell onto a moving truck along Pea Ridge Road near Highway 441 in Putnam County, authorities said.

Officials report that the crash occurred around 6:15 a.m. when a tree came down onto the vehicle as it was traveling through the area. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and confirmed that two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The tragic event came in the aftermath of severe thunderstorms that moved through the region overnight. The storms left the ground heavily saturated, and parts of Putnam County were under a tornado warning Thursday night, according to weather alerts issued at the time.

The victims have been identified as Logan Christopher Deal, 24, and Jakob Hogan Tapley, 25, both of Ellabell. Authorities confirmed that both men were seated in the back seat of the truck when the tree fell and that they died at the scene from their injuries.

Two additional individuals who were also inside the vehicle were injured in the crash and transported for medical treatment. Their conditions have not yet been publicly released.

Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, including weather conditions and the structural failure of the tree during the severe storms. Authorities have not announced any further details at this time.
