Kyle Bevan Murder – Obituary: Three Inmates Sentenced to Life in Prison for Fatal Prison Cell Stabbing

Kyle Bevan Murder – Obituary, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Three inmates have been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Kyle Bevan, a convicted child killer who was stabbed to death inside a UK prison after three prisoners launched a fatal attack on him.

Bevan, 33, was serving a life sentence for the 2020 murder of his partner’s two-year-old daughter when he was attacked by fellow inmates Mark Fellows, 45, David Taylor, 64, and Lee Newell, 57.

According to court proceedings, the three men entered Bevan’s prison cell and cornered him before stabbing him 25 times during an attack that lasted approximately five minutes. Prosecutors said the inmates later placed Bevan in his bed in an attempt to make it appear as though he was sleeping.

Bevan was not discovered until the following day, when prison staff found him inside his cell. Authorities later determined that he had been murdered during the coordinated attack.

Taylor was sentenced to life imprisonment for Bevan’s murder, while Fellows and Newell, who were already serving life sentences for previous offenses, received additional separate life sentences for the killing.

During sentencing, Judge Mrs Justice McGowan said the attack was motivated by Bevan’s conviction for the murder of a child. The judge told the defendants that they had specifically targeted him because of the crime he had committed and noted that there were reports of people congratulating them after the killing.

The court also heard that Fellows attempted to dispose of bloodstained clothing after the attack and that all three men had blood evidence on their footwear. The judge stated that each of the defendants had previous experience with serious violence.

The case remains a reminder of the dangers and ongoing challenges within the prison system as authorities continue to manage violence between inmates.
