Bishop Keanu Jackson Obituary, ROANOKE COUNTY, VIRGINIA — Bishop Keanu Jackson, a 28-year-old motorcyclist from Roanoke, Virginia, has died following a tragic collision involving an SUV in Roanoke County, according to the Roanoke County Police Department.
Authorities said the fatal crash occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. on Friday near the intersection of Colonial Avenue and Poplar Drive in the Cave Spring area. Jackson was operating a motorcycle when he was struck by a Honda SUV.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and provided immediate medical assistance before transporting Jackson to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators identified the driver of the SUV as Barbara Ann Callahan, 64, also of Roanoke. Police stated that she was taken into custody following the crash and initially charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and refusal to submit to blood-alcohol testing.
Court records further show that additional charges have since been filed, including DUI involuntary manslaughter and first-offense driving while intoxicated. Authorities noted that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be considered as evidence is reviewed.
Officials have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the collision, including whether speed or impairment played a role. Callahan is currently being held at the Roanoke County-Salem Jail, with court proceedings pending.
As the investigation continues, family members, friends, and members of the Roanoke community are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Bishop Keanu Jackson, whose life was cut short in the collision.
