Nji Nicolas Obituary, YAOUNDÉ–BAMENDA HIGHWAY, CAMEROON — The fourth victim of the tragic Yaoundé–Bamenda highway accident involving a Vatican Express bus has been identified as 28-year-old Nji Nicolas, a native of Mankon who was residing in Nitop One, Bamenda.
According to reports, Nji Nicolas was among the passengers aboard the Vatican Express vehicle that was involved in the fatal collision along the busy intercity route on the night of June 18 into the early hours of June 19, 2026.
His identity was confirmed hours after earlier victims had been identified, as families and authorities continued efforts to account for all passengers who were on board at the time of the crash.
Details surrounding his final movements prior to boarding the journey have not yet been fully established. However, he was reportedly traveling when the accident occurred under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash, and an official comprehensive report has not yet been released. Emergency response teams and investigators are expected to continue gathering information in the coming days.
